This year’s NotaBle Acts Theatre Festival will feature the premieres of 14 new plays, presented both live and online. Two of the 14 plays (mainstage production Space Girl and Playwright in Residence Reading Bluebirds) will be presented online only; 5 plays will be presented live only (the five plays in Taking it to the Streets, performed in Barracks Square); and the remainder will be presented for small live audiences at Theatre New Brunswick’s Open Space Theatre and also simultaneously livestreamed.
All performances will be free with donations welcome and appreciated. Donations can be made with cash, online, and by cheque, with charitable tax receipts available for donations of $20 or more. For information on how to donate and to make a donation, visit our “Donate” page https://nbacts.com/donate/.

Performances at Theatre New Brunswick’s Open Space Theatre (55 Whiting Road)
Due to very limited seating capacity owing to physical distancing requirements, seat reservations are highly recommended. To reserve a seat, email email@example.com. Under the province of New Brunswick’s State of Emergency regulations requiring records of all persons entering a business for contact tracing purposes, your reservation must include the following:
-full names of all persons attending, as well as a phone number/email for each person
-indicate whether the persons attending are in a “bubble” (ie. Can they sit together in the theatre?)
Because we have so few seats available for shows with only one performance each, we ask that you please honour your seat reservation.
On performance night/afternoon, please
-arrive 15 minutes before show time. Audience members will wait outside the theatre until you are seated by an usher.
–masks are required when entering and leaving the theatre, but may be removed when seated.
-please note that washroom facilities are available at the theatre, but it will make things easier for all if they are used as little possible, so please go before you come!
-depending on the event, performances will run in total in the range of 90 minutes (with no intermission) or 2 hours (with an intermission).
Taking it to the Streets Performances at Barracks Square
(corner of Queen and Carleton Streets, downtown Fredericton, 7:30 PM July 23, 25, 29, & 31)
Due to limited seating capacity owing to physical distancing requirements, seat reservations are recommended. Making a reservation will speed things up at the door and ensure you the best seats in the house, with seating provided! To reserve a seat, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Under the province of New Brunswick’s State of Emergency regulations requiring records of all persons entering a business for contact tracing purposes, your reservation must include the following:
-date of the performance and the full names of all persons attending, as well as a phone number/email for each person
-indicate whether the persons attending are in a “bubble” (ie. Can they sit together)
Please honour your seat reservation and let us know if you need to cancel.
Audience members may also attend without having made a seat reservation, but will be required to provide contact tracing information at the door. It would be appreciated if you could bring your own lawn chair if you don’t make a reservation, but we’ll have some on hand for anyone who can’t!
On performance night, please
-arrive at Barracks Square 15 minutes before show time. Audience members will be seated in groups by an usher.
–masks are encouraged when entering and leaving the audience space, but may be removed when seated.

In the event of inclement weather:
-in case of rain before the show, performance start time may be delayed.
-in case of rain during the show (bring a raincoat and hat if it’s looking iffy!) performance may continue in the case of light/spotty showers, but in the event of heavier rain, the performance may be either suspended and resumed later, or cancelled.
