Tonight is your last chance to catch our mainstage productions! Don’t miss this wildly entertaining comedy double-bill!
We may be wrapping up two fantastic shows tonight, but our 2024 festival is just getting started! You can find more information on all the wonderful New Brunswick theatre we have in store this week right here on our website!
Influentia by Erin Russell
Fed up with her lack of social media followers and at odds with her chaotic mind, Darah, a struggling ceramicist, turns to magic to bring her art and herself instant fame. Armed with a spell she found on TikTok, and the help of the shy boy from her therapy group who only speaks Latin, Darah manages to summon an ancient entity with a familiar face. But as the bargain she makes with this creature begins to transform her whole life, Darah starts to wonder if the price of this influence is more than she’s willing to pay.
The show includes strong themes of mental health struggles including eating disorders, panic attacks, depression, anxiety and mentions of self-harm.
Snakes are Cool by Jake Martin
Snakes Are Cool is a frenetic collection of solo sketch comedy by Jake Martin. After receiving an unclear revelation from God himself, Jake embodies a horde of oddball liars, idiots and worst of all, salesmen. Snakes Are Cool features magical conmen, hamburger bandits, and more live commercials than any play should have. Come see the prophecy fulfilled before your very eyes!
Written and performed by Jake Martin
Influentia (90 minutes) and Snakes are Cool (40 minutes) will be performed as a double-bill at 7:30 PM tonight, July 27, at Memorial Hall, UNB.
Tickets: $20 General; $15 Students/Seniors/Underemployed, available at the door.
