More Details

NotaBle is seeking directors for four types of plays:

One Act plays: require a major time commitment, plays directed on a tight timeline and requiring rehearsals most days of the week. Plays will be performed August 3-5 in Fredericton, and August 12/13 in Sackville.

Ten-Minute and Site-Specific Plays: require a moderately large time commitment. These are shorter plays requiring in the range of 3-4 rehearsals a week. Plays will be performed July 30-August 2.

Readings: small time commitment, likely no more than 3-4 rehearsals required in total. Plays will be performed July 26, 29, 30.

Auditions for all festival plays will conclude July 11, with rehearsals beginning shortly thereafter. Those directing any of the shorter plays (all but the One Acts) may also audition for other shows!

Another successful festival in the books!

NotaBle Acts closed another successful Summer Theatre Festival, our 21st annual, this past Saturday. Our 2022 festival featured thirteen excellent shows, countless amazing performances, and great audiences. The new work that our province’s playwrights, actors, directors, and designers are creating yearly continues to amaze, and NotaBle Acts is thrilled to be part of bringing that work to all of us. Of course, we couldn’t have done it without the support of the many, many people we’d like to thank for making this season possible. Our sponsors, funders, and in-kind partners: Government of New Brunswick, Canadian Heritage, City of Fredericton Government, University of New Brunswick, Downtown Fredericton, Gallery 78, Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Christ Church Cathedral, and Theatre New Brunswick. Thanks also to Fredericton Tourism – Town Square Social Hub and Grid City Magazine for their help in promoting our shows.

And most importantly, everyone who came out to see the plays for your gracious words and support!

We’re already making plans and looking forward to 2023. We hope to have you all back with us next year, and in the meantime, if you have friends or family in the Sackville, NB area, our Acting Out production of Julianne Richard’s Murder Mondays (a huge hit with audiences at our festival) is going to be performed there next Thursday August 11 at Live Bait Theatre‘s Festival of New Works! 7:30 PM at the Sackville Legion. Spread the word!
